SPRING ENERGIZED SEALS

Precision, Versatility, and Reliability with Spring Energized Seals

The Spring Energized Seals are the sealing elements that are single-acting parts. They are particularly useful for sealing reciprocating rods and pistons, but they can also be used for rotary, swivelling, and static applications.

When traditional sealing techniques are unable to satisfy particular needs, such as those pertaining to temperature range, chemical resistance, or friction thresholds, these seals take over. It is essential to include a spring element in the seal design to guarantee positive sealing even in low-pressure situations. The spring element compensates for potential jacket wall reduction brought on by cold flow, wear, and thermal conditions in addition to preventing polymer cold flow, wear, and thermal contraction. Because of the jacket’s special shape, it is easier to use hydrostatic pressure to energize the seal, which increases spring force and, in turn, contact pressure.
The possibility of possible leakage is eliminated by this careful design. These seals, which consist of an integrated spring and an outside sealing element made of high-strength plastic, represent a complete solution for difficult sealing situations.
