Mask Seals’ piston rings and guide bearings made from special PTFE materials are in high demand for use in compressors, as an alternative to comparable cast iron, graphite and woven fabrics products. In addition to being largely resistant to chemicals with the exclusion of alkali metals in liquid form, fluorine and hydrofluoric acid when gaseous, and some fluorohydrocarbons under high pressure/temperature conditions; these PTFE materials also boast impressive durability and strength ratings.
It is possible to use PTFE rings and bearings up to a temperature of +260°C, but this limit has to be lowered according to the piston’s pressure and speed. We also offer natural and filled PEEK components for suction and delivery valves.
